Ján Litvaj

A contemporary Slovak landscapist from Turany who has painted professionally since 1987: his domain is the Slovak countryside and folk architecture — timber houses, villages and mountain solitudes, joined by floral subjects in oil and printmaking. Works from his studio have travelled to collectors across Europe, to Australia and the USA. The Melting Snow and Vlkolínec in our collection unite both his strengths — the atmosphere of changing seasons and the charm of a village inscribed on the UNESCO list.
