About the work
Gerlach Peak — the highest summit of the Tatras, the Carpathians and all Slovakia (2,655 m), captured in a generous 70 × 90 cm format. The contemporary painter Peter Trembáč continues the long tradition of Slovak high-mountain landscape painting, in which Gerlach holds a privileged place as a national symbol. An oil of 2006, signed; it brings a representative Tatra summit in large format into the collection, expanding its mountain line alongside Grotkovský, Votruba and Fabini.
