Antal Neogrády

The doyen of Hungarian watercolour landscape painting and founder of a painting dynasty: a pupil of János Greguss and the Munich academy, he won the prestigious Esterházy Prize in 1894 and for nearly four decades (1893–1931) taught watercolour at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. His naturalist landscapes and genre scenes with ladies are kept by the Hungarian National Gallery — and he passed the painter's craft to his son László, represented in our collection by eight works.
