A Czech painter born on 9 August 1907 in Tišnov, whose work was tied to Prague. He trained at the technical university in Brno and continued from 1945 to 1948 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Professor Nejedlý.
He is represented in the collection by a genre scene from the harvest — a theme of field work that ranks among the constants of Central European painting.
