About the work
View of Mountains — a jagged rock massif rising out of bands of milky mist, with a stony slope in the foreground, a group of high-altitude spruces and a path that vanishes into the depth of the valley. The colour is laid in fine gradations, the mist painted softly and translucently, the rocks by contrast with sharp highlights.
The work is unsigned and the artist has not yet been determined. With its motif of high peaks above mist it connects to the Tatra part of the collection.
